First idea
to be tested in 1:100 models is about placing the programs in such an order,
that there will be plenty of daylight during the day. With a square frame
outside and a more organic design inside, will the hybrid open up to an
experience of passage and activity flow. The users are allowed to walk upon the
apartments while their enjoying the rooftop gardens. Furthermore a greenhouse
is making it possible to be self-supplying in vegetables and fruits.
The idea is
that the whole program will work as an collective housing with hardly any
difference between residents and guest, that is why there is made space for largely
social spaces.
Second idea
is a development of the first model. Even more sun will enter here, while the
main aim of this test is to capture the existing contexts high. Our goal here
is to lead the rooftop garden spread out all over the area, and makes a passage
to allowing the users access to both sites from the top.
Third idea
comes with inspiration from a gearing system and the utopian theologise, Yona
Friedman.
The idea is
that the apartments/hotel rooms should be able to rotate and melt together for
creating a bigger apartment. The rotation systems should be possible in a
vertical/horizontal way and make new spaces.
Furthermore
the model is raised from the ground into the sky. The hybrid will begin where
the existing context ends, and therefore become a superstructure filled with
open/closed spaces, with a green garden on top of every flat/room.
