My name is Morten Bilde Hougård, 2. year's student at
the School of architecture in Århus, Denmark.
This blog has been made, so my fellow students or any
other curious people, have a chance to se what students, at 2. year, are
working with.
Our first assignment were about windows safari,
because ''Openings is the major theme of the year.
I decided that my focus should be about the developing
and difference for windows, through time.
‘‘Difference of
windows’’
06.09.12
My hole entire focus during this assignment, have been
about the difference between ancient windows, never windows and the developing
in design, in Denmark trough the years.
The first slides of pictures in the bottom, shows
windows from the old Denmark, and a great history of bindings works, which was
a great tradition in Denmark during the 1500-1800’. The construction is made of
bearing wood beams, which only led a certain amount of space for the windows,
and therefore could the design of windows not turn into a abstract way.
The second slides of pictures in the middle, shows the
developing during the 90’ Denmark. Now entire wall section is made of glass,
and big windows frames, from floor to top. Those big sections make an eye catch
for people outsides the buildings, and seduces them, to make a visit.
The last slides of pictures in the top, shows the
developing here in the future. Now the building industry have the materials to
make windows in a abstract way, not only with different materials, but also
some great colors and the possibility to place windows in a different way,
directly made in the factory's.
